playing cards, face card design

This was a project to design playing cards. I chose two styles of art to emulate and mash-up. I chose art deco and art nouveau, specifically the style of Alphonse Mucha.

ideation

I made the face cards king, queen and jack. I wanted to use cats for the cards since there is such diversity of looks among feline to fill every position. A lion filled the roll as king, a Siamese cat for queen and a lynx for the jack.

A combination of colored pencil and Adobe Photoshop were used to complete this playing card project.
