social issues poster campaign

The assigned project was to create social issue posters for refugees. After researching refugee issues around the world I chose women and children of South Sudan. We were to link the cause to a charity and build a poster campaign for that charity. I chose the International Rescue Committee. 

ideation

Since the International Rescue Committee’s logo is yellow and black I chose these colors to work with. I wanted to use the IRC’s arrow mark as a backdrop for the poster reinforcing the charity. I also chose to use muted green tones as a reference to the African environment and because it is complementary to the red colors used to bring attention to cause each poster features.

I chose imagery illustrating the good work IRC does and some problematic issues the children face such as hunger, health and coercion of children by warlords to serve as child soldiers for them.
